The More You Know
Omari Bendigo’s charity relaunch event was a heartwarming day for the community on September 21st, 2024. With a smoking ceremony and a Welcome to Country at 8:30 AM, the day started with respect and a sense of unity. The event, featuring a live broadcast from Triple M Bendigo, ran from 9 AM onwards, offering family-friendly activities like face painting, yard games, and exclusive tours of the Botanic Gardens, hosted by the Friends of the Gardens.
Beyond the celebration, this event carried a deeper purpose: raising much-needed funds for the Eaglehawk Community House, a cornerstone of Bendigo for nearly 40 years. Known for its dedication to reducing isolation and offering free or low-cost social programs, the Eaglehawk Community House serves as a safe, inclusive space for all. Guests showed their support by purchasing raffle tickets for amazing prizes donated by local businesses. “This event isn’t just a relaunch; it’s our way of giving back to the community,” said Jareth, one of the Omari Bendigo team members.
Local businesses like Explore Bendigo, Be Bendigo, and Bendigo Botanic Gardens were key supporters, further emphasizing the collective spirit of the event. The day’s success was a testament to the strong bonds within the Bendigo community. If you missed it, make sure you don’t miss the next Omari Bendigo celebration—this is just the beginning of their new chapter.
