The 2024 Empowering Eaglehawk Annual Celebration, held at Eaglehawk’s prestigious community hall, was a spectacular event that gathered the heart and soul of the 3556 community. The night was filled with emotion as members came together to celebrate the incredible achievements and contributions that have been made over the past year.
This year’s celebration honored those who have gone above and beyond for the community. Standout moments included the presentation of significant grants by Bendigo Bank and Bendigo Telco, totaling over $35,000. These funds will support various initiatives, including Bendigo Hawks Swimming’s new PA system and marquee, which will enhance future events.
A particularly moving moment was the recognition of outgoing President Mitch Graham and Secretary Brian Davey, whose leadership and dedication have been instrumental in guiding the organization. “Their passion and commitment have left an indelible mark on Eaglehawk,” shared one attendee, highlighting the profound impact these leaders have had.
The evening also saw Albert Skipper receiving the 2024 Community Award, a testament to his unwavering dedication to Eaglehawk. Albert’s contributions, from volunteer work to being a positive community presence, exemplify the spirit of the town.
Empowering Eaglehawk’s partnership with local schools, like Eaglehawk Secondary College, continues to foster the next generation of community leaders. The event concluded with a look towards the future, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to fostering community spirit and collaboration.
As Eaglehawk moves forward, the success of this celebration serves as a reminder of the power of community and the difference it makes when people come together with a shared purpose.
