On Saturday, November 2nd, Eaglehawk Secondary College marked its 60th Anniversary with a celebration that gathered generations of alumni, current students, faculty, and community members at the campus. Beginning at 11 a.m., the festivities included student-led tours of the school, showcasing the advancements Eaglehawk has made since it first opened its doors in 1964.
Guests enjoyed a barbecue lunch, afternoon tea, and a commemorative tree-planting ceremony, creating a wonderful atmosphere of connection and remembrance. The event was especially meaningful to alumni who reflected on the school’s legacy of providing practical education. The addition of memorabilia displays offered a nostalgic look back, stirring fond memories of the school’s evolution from Eaglehawk High School to its current form.
Newly appointed Principal Richelle Hollis said, “This celebration is a fantastic opportunity to build connections with our alumni and local community.” Attendees also had the chance to reconnect with former teachers and principals, making the day an inspiring reminder of the impact the school has had over six decades.
