The Women of Wool Luncheon 2024 was a delightful gathering on Friday, July 19, bringing together community members for a day filled with fun, friendships, and laughter. Held at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre, the event was hosted by the charming Catriona Rowntree, who guided attendees through an afternoon of inspiring talks and engaging entertainment.
Guests enjoyed a delectable two-course luncheon, with beverages included, while hearing from notable speakers such as Bendigo Bank’s Head of Social Purpose, Sharnie Curnow, and special guest Ann Peacock. The luncheon also featured amusing anecdotes from raconteur Geoff ‘Coxy’ Cox, adding a light-hearted touch to the proceedings. One of the highlights of the day was the showcase of the latest wool fashion capsule, captivating the audience with its stylish and innovative designs.
In addition to the luncheon, attendees had access to all the show’s vendors, fashion parades, the Festival of Lamb, and craft areas. This annual event, part of the Australian Sheep and Wool Show, is a beloved tradition, celebrating the contributions and achievements of women in the wool industry. The excitement and camaraderie of the luncheon underscored the importance of community events in fostering connections and promoting well-being.
“This event is a testament to the strength and spirit of our community,” said host Catriona Rowntree. “We come together to celebrate, inspire, and support one another, and it’s a joy to be part of such a wonderful day.”
