The Shitbox Rally Bendigo 2024 kicked off with team Burnt Snags! John and Jack joined hundreds of participants, departing from the Bendigo Showgrounds on an adventure across Australia. Their goal? Raising funds for cancer research.
On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the iconic Shitbox Rally kicked off from the Bendigo Showgrounds, as 225 teams began their unforgettable journey driving cars worth no more than $1,500 across Australia. Among these teams was the dynamic duo, John and Jack, known as Team Burnt Snags, taking part in this charity challenge to raise money for cancer research in honor of their family members.
The rally, which spans 7 days and covers hundreds of kilometers, sees participants driving from Bendigo to Townsville. It’s not just about the driving but about community spirit, support, and fun as teams help each other through breakdowns and celebrate under the stars each night. The Shitbox Rally has raised over $46 million for Cancer Council, and this year, the spring leg of the rally has already surpassed its target of $2 million!
“The impact this rally has on cancer research is astounding,” says John. “We’re proud to be part of it, driving in memory of loved ones and helping fund critical research.”
